Picture My Life cards from Close to my Heart

This little note book was my roommate gift at the CTMH convention 2014.  I used Picture My Life (PML) cards from Skylark to make 3 of these super fast.  PML cards are not just for scrapbooking any more.

I found the vinyl cover and business card holder at ClearBags.com and added a note pad, post-it-note flags and tab labels to mark our new catalogs. Let me show you how--Laurie Louisiana

Easel Card / Close to my Heart / CTMH Artist Cricut Cartridge / Skylark / Timberline

I love how the easel card looks and it is so easy to make. I used Close to my Hearts Skylark and Timberline paper packs. The flowers and vine were cut using Close to my Hearts Artist Cricut cartridge.

I cut the flowers and vine from CTMH cardstock and stamped using tone on tone with background stamps.  I sanded the cross piece of wood patterned paper so that my stamped saying would show up better.  The card base is cut at 4"x8" and scored at 2" and 4".  A separate card front that is 4"x4" is attached to the card front between the edge and first score line so that it can fold and be held open by catching on a layered sentiment inside.  Let me show you how--Laurie in Louisiana.

Pop-Up Card Show at the Close to my Heart Creativity Showcase during Convention 2014

I used Skylark paper pack and Kraft card stock to create this wonderful Pop-Up card. I found the tutorial on Split Coast Stampers web site but needed to tweak the measurements a little.  I used the stamp set from Ivy Lane WOTG Cardmaking Kit. When trying a new technique or paper fold, consider using cheap cardstock or even typing paper to practice. The inside piece of Skylark measures 4" x 12" scored at 5", 5 1/2", 6", 6 1/2", and 7" when accordion folded, create a trench for the acetate strips to be secured with Red Line tape. The acetate pieces where cut 1/2" x
4 1/2" and after the icons where attached using glue dots at different heights, the excess was trimmed off.  The dragonfly, butterfly and flower icons where cut using Close to my Hearts' Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. Let me show you how---Laurie in Louisiana

Close to my Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge Open Window Card

What can you make with one of the open window cards that can be cut using Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge?
Here is a card I showed at Close to my Heart's Creative Showcase at convention this year 2014.

Again I used Skylark papers to stay uniform for a pretty display.  The Bird and wing is also cut using Close to my Hearts' Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge but the branch and leaves where cut using Close to my Hearts' Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I added a piece of white card stock so that the card could stand up more easily.

Pop-Up Card from Creative Showcase at Close to my Heart Convention 2014

I will be posting several blog entries of artwork I created for the 2014 Close to my Heart Convention. Here are pictures of the items I had at the Create Showcase Thursday evening..........

I love the Skylark paper pack.  I had used Stella paper on this card before but remade it so that most of my projects were made with the same paper to give my table a cohesive and pleasing look. The stamp set is called A Tree. It is only $6.95. The Butterfly pop-up inside is cut from the Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge at 3 inches. I cut the white insert at 5 1/4 x 8 inches, fold in half at 4".  I marked with a pencil 1" from the top of the fold and 1.5" along the top from the fold. I scored between these makes while the paper insert was folded. I then folded on the score mark so that it folded inward to create my pop-up. So much fun! and easy to create!
